Tour de Mont Blanc 2007

The 'Tour de Mont Blanc' (TMB) is often described as one of the best classic walks in the world, and I can well believe it. The route, which is a circuit around the Mont Blanc massif with Mont Blanc itself at the centre standing 4807 metres tall, passes through 3 countries (France, Italy and Switzerland) and a wide range of scenery. The Mont Blanc range makes an effective natural border, with France sitting to the north, Italy to the south and Switzerland to the east.

We walked the route in the classic anti-clockwise direction as this best suited our plans, (it meant that if we ran out of time towards the end of the tour, we could easily get transport back to our starting point or Geneva) starting from Les Houches, in France.
